A faster site on phones

Website redesign
We rebuild slow, dated or hard-to-edit websites for businesses on Vancouver Island, and we move them without throwing away the search traffic they already earn. Every old address is mapped, redirected and checked. You see the speed before and after, measured the same way.
Old sites rarely break all at once. The phone number on the contact page is out of date, the gallery takes ages to open on mobile, and the person who built it on WordPress stopped answering emails. Or the site sits on Wix or Squarespace, and each month the subscription renews for a site you no longer like.
The risk people worry about is real: a careless redesign can drop a site out of Google for months. That happens when pages move to new addresses and nobody tells Google where they went. Years of links and rankings point to URLs that now return an error.
We treat the move as the main part of the job. Before we design anything, we list every URL Google knows about. If you want to see how your current site does first, run a free website check. If you are weighing the cost of staying on a builder, read Wix and Squarespace vs a custom site over 3 years.
Not every old site needs a rebuild. This is how we decide with you.
| Situation | Our usual advice |
|---|---|
| Design is fine, a few pages are outdated | Keep it. Update the text and photos. |
| Slow on phones, built on a heavy theme or builder | Rebuild. Speed problems in page builders are hard to fix from the inside. |
| You cannot edit it, or the developer is gone | Rebuild, with everything in your name this time. |
| Ranks well, but looks dated | Rebuild carefully, keeping every URL and title that brings traffic. |
| No pages for the services or towns you want to rank for | Rebuild with a page per service and per town. |
If keeping your site is the better choice, we will say so.
We collect the addresses from your sitemap, Search Console and a full crawl, so nothing that brings visitors is missed.
Pages that rank keep the same URL. When an address has to change, it goes on a redirect map.
Every old URL points to its closest new page with a permanent redirect, so links and rankings follow.
Titles, descriptions and headings that already bring clicks are kept or improved, not rewritten for the sake of it.
We test the old and new site with the same tool, on mobile, and send you both results.
We submit the new sitemap and check for errors and missing pages in the weeks after the switch.

There is no WordPress core or plugin list to keep patched, because there is no WordPress.
Domain, code, Google accounts and analytics belong to you, documented in one handover note.
Service and town pages are easy to add later, which is where most local search traffic comes from.

If you only need the move, our migration from Wix, Squarespace or WordPress with rankings kept starts at CAD $300 on top of the site itself. A full redesign is quoted like a new site, starting at CAD $970 for a small site and CAD $2,500 to $4,500 for a business site with service and town pages. All prices are on the pricing page.
A domain registered through Wix or Squarespace can be transferred to you or pointed at the new site, so your address and email stay the same. We plan that step with you so nothing goes offline.
A redesign is also the cheapest moment to fix local search, because the page structure is being decided anyway. Ask about local SEO during the quote and we will build the town and service pages in from the start.
Tell us about your business and what you need, or pick a time for a 15‑minute call. We'll reply within 1 business day with a fixed quote or the questions we need answered.
