Web design in Duncan and the Cowichan Valley

Wineries, cideries, farms, makers and the trades that keep a growing valley running. We build websites that sell a visit, a bottle or a service call, from our studio in Nanaimo, about 45 minutes north on the Island Highway.

What the valley sells, and what its websites need

Wineries and cideries

Tasting room hours by season, directions from the highway, events, and a way to buy bottles or join a club online, set up around what your licence allows.

Farms and farm stands

What is in season this week, pre-orders or produce boxes, market days. A simple product list, or a small shop for pickup orders.

Agri-tourism and events

Farm tours, U-pick, vineyard weddings. These are planned weeks ahead from Victoria, Nanaimo and the mainland, so the site has to answer every question before someone emails.

Trades and home services

From Mill Bay to Lake Cowichan, homes need building and fixing. Service pages that name Duncan, North Cowichan and Cobble Hill help Google match you with local searches.

Selling online from the valley

A lot of Cowichan businesses make something people want to take home or order again later. That is where an e-commerce website makes sense: a visitor who loved your cheese, your cider or your wool in August can order it again in November. Online stores start at CAD $4,500 and include payments, shipping and product setup.

Not every farm needs a full store. Often a Starter site with a seasonal product list and a pickup order form does the job for CAD $970 to $2,000, and it can grow into a shop later. The whole price list is on the pricing page.

How people find you in the Cowichan Valley

Search here splits in two. Locals search by service and town: “plumber Duncan”, “vet Cobble Hill”, “daycare North Cowichan”. Visitors search by experience: “wineries Cowichan Valley”, “farm stand near Duncan”, “things to do Lake Cowichan”. The first group needs a tidy Google Business Profile and service pages. The second needs pages that describe what a visit is like, with real photos, so Google and AI search tools have something worth quoting. We wrote about the second part in making a website ready for AI search.

Mobile signal can be patchy on rural roads and around the lakes. Our sites load fast on weak data, with compressed images and no heavy page builder scripts, which matters when someone is trying to find your gate on a gravel road.

For local SEO, the method is the one we use for our Nanaimo clients: structured data, the same business details everywhere, real reviews, and pages for the communities you actually serve.

Working with a studio 45 minutes away

Most of the project happens by phone and email, and we come down when it helps: to see the tasting room, walk the farm or show you around the finished shop. Price and process are the same as for clients near us, described on web design in Nanaimo. On the way down we pass Ladysmith, and if your business is closer to the Malahat and the city, see web design in Victoria.
