A rhythmic gymnastics school website in Nanaimo

Yankovska School rents four different gyms across Nanaimo, and the gym changes with the day and the month. The website now tells each family where to go this week, without anyone having to ask.

The client and what they needed

Yankovska School of Rhythmic Gymnastics teaches children from parent and tot classes up to a competitive group. It has no building of its own: classes run in rented spaces, including the Scout Hut on Comox Road and school gyms such as Frank J. Ney Elementary, and the venue for a given weekday changes through the season.

The school needed a site that matched its look (elegant, calm, very visual) and answered the questions parents send by message every week: which gym, what time, how much, and how to sign up. We first built the site in April 2026 and did a larger website redesign in August 2026, ahead of the September 2026 to June 2027 season.

What we built

  • A locations page listing the four gyms with addresses and map links
  • A weekly board that highlights today and shows which gym runs each day
  • Closure warnings and upcoming venue changes, read from one schedule file
  • The full season venue rotation behind a details toggle
  • Monthly tuition for six programs, from Parent & Tot to Competitive
  • An online registration form that emails the school
  • Three downloadable forms: registration, emergency information and the release of liability
  • An Our Team page, a programs page and a photo gallery

How it works for parents

A parent opens the locations page on Tuesday morning and sees this week laid out, with today marked and the gym name and address next to it. If a holiday closes the gym, the warning appears before they leave the house. On Sunday the board already shows the coming week.

All of this comes from one data file. When the school confirms next season, we update the dates once and the weekly board, the season list and the schedule on the home page change together. The registration page carries the current tuition, so the form and the prices never disagree.

Schools, clubs and studios have the same problem as trades: people want the practical answer fast. That is why we put this much effort into the schedule instead of another slideshow. If you run a class-based business, see our website design service and what we do for web design in Nanaimo.
